La Chaîne de l’Espoir is protected under the status of its host in the event of illicit content published by the User, in accordance with French law, article 6-I-2 of June 21, 2004 regarding confidence in the digital economy.

In accordance with the 3rd paragraph of this same article, La Chaîne de l’Espoir cannot be held civilly or criminally liable for content published by the User, unless, after becoming aware or having been informed of any such content, La Chaîne de l’Espoir neglects to act promptly to remove or make this content inaccessible.

The User may alert La Chaîne de l’Espoir to any content which is illicit in the User’s estimation by email at: webmaster@chainedelespoir.org

Any incomplete notification or any notification not in compliance with the conditions stipulated in French law article 6-1-5 of June 21, 2004 regarding confidence in the digital economy cannot be considered as valid.

The User could be held liable for any abusive notification and he or she could be subject to one year of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros under article 6-I-4 of the above-mentioned law. 

“La Chaîne de l’Espoir”: The organisation, La Chaîne de l’Espoir, in compliance with the 1901 French law governing non-profit organisations, publisher of the Website.

“The User”: Any natural or legal person, private or public entity, which connects to the Website. 

“The Website”: The internet website accessible from the www.chainedelespoir.org URL as well as subsites, mirror sites, portals and variations relating to the same URL.

The Website is accessible and free for all Users.

By accessing the Website, the User accepts unconditionally to abide by the general conditions of use. Connection to the Website indicates the Users agreement to be bound by these general conditions.

The User acknowledges having read and being fully aware of the general conditions of use and accepts them without restrictions.

The present general conditions apply to relations between the parties to the exclusion of all other conditions, particularly those of the User.

In accepting the present general conditions, it is assumed that the User is in possession of his or her full legal capacities or, if not, that he or she has the authorisation of his or her guardian or trustee if he or she is underage or without legal capacity or, if the User is a legal person, that they are in possession of an authorisation. 

4.1 Furnishing data is optional  

The User is free to supply personal data. Supplying this information is not necessary to navigate the Website.

4.2 Furnishing information is required for registration

By contrast, registration on the present Website requires La Chaîne de l’Espoir to collect certain pieces of the User’s personal data. If the User does not wish to provide this necessary data for registration, he or she will not be permitted to place an order on the Website.

4.3 Purpose of collected personal data

Personal data collected will be processed by computer and are reserved exclusively for La Chaîne de l’Espoir. The personal data collected is necessary for the proper management of the Website and for the respect of La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s contractual obligations. Data is stored by La Chaîne de l’Espoir for this sole purpose. La Chaîne de l’Espoir agrees not to use this data for any other purpose or to pass it on to third parties, except with the express agreement of the User or in cases provided for by law. The personal data collected will not be transferred abroad.

The personal data provided by the registered User on the present Website is stored for the reasonable time necessary for the proper management of the Website and for acceptable use of personal data. This data is stored securely according to current technical methods, in accordance with the provisions of the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978. Acting in accordance with this act, the User has a right to query, access, amend and object to the data supplied by him or her. In order to exercise this right the User must simply submit a request to La Chaîne de l’Espoir at the following address: webmaster@chainedelespoir.org or to La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s head office, the address of which is indicated in article 1 of the present general conditions. 

All contents of the Website (text, images, graphics, etc.), the structure and the software implemented for the running of the Website are protected under copyright and databank laws.

The photographs on the Website are not under contract.
