Chaine de l'Espoir and ALIMA medical teams are currently working in Haiti following the earthquake providing care for the injured at the Lambert Clinic in Pétion-Ville, near Port-au-Prince. The Lambert Clinic is well known and respected by the Haitian health and government authorities.

The Lamber Clinic expert medical care has brought a great deal of happiness to many. Mendji Bahina Sanon serves as one of the many striking examples; she is a young Haitian girl aged 11, found miraculously alive after 8 days under the rubble. Mendji's many injuries were treated at the Lambert Clinic by Prof. Dominique Jan, Chaine de l'Espoir surgeon.

Thanks to the medical teams present, the 4 operating blocks and an efficiently run hospital, a daily average of 30 major operations and 100 minor operations have been conducted so far.

But medical supplies and materials are urgently required.

The hospital in coordination with Enfants Bonheur and the local authorities are currently working on a project assessing the needs of the children orphaned after the earthquake.

This extremely important project needs your support.

For example, if 400 people donate 50 euros each, surgical kits could be provided which would save the lives of 25 children.

Chaine de l'Espoir is an important actor in healthcare. The association, founded in 1988, has a mission to provide medical care and education to poor children in underpriviledged countries.

The association ALIMA (Alliance for International Medical Action) was created in 2009 in partnership with Chaine de l'Espoir to provide international humanitarian medical aid. Aid has already been given in Gaza (pediatric cardiac surgery), in Sri Lanka (surgery for displaced persons caused by the war) and in Niger (for malnutrition and malaria).

The association Enfants Bonheur has been present in Haiti for several years and fights daily to provide access to education for the poorest children. Its founder Jacqueline Bonheur, has been helping Haitian children for the past 40 years.
