Expanding hospital services
Outstanding projects : the afghan children's house
The precarious situation of many children cared for at FMIC led La Chaîne de l'Espoir to think about a way of financing the health care. This help concerns the needy who mainly come from the country. The place is named The House for Afghan Children.
The main mission of the House for Afghans children is to offer a financial and logistical support to the medical care of the children living in far provinces. . This house also enables to accomodate free of charge children and their families during their whole stay in Kabul.

The Afghan Children's House is equipped with:
A permanent medical and administrative team of 16 people manages the house's daily activity and care program.
Objective : to accomodate 150 children in 2008 and 350 children in 2009
Expanding hospital services
Hospital expansion
Since its creation the institute’s aim is to care for mothers and their children. The hospital expansion will allow us to provide general and surgical services for women such as obstetrics and gynaecology.
This project will allow us to welcome the following departments
Construction of a building near the hospital dedicated to adult care.
The different partners agreed with offering more medical and surgical services cares to the whole general and specialized departments for adults. Accomodation capacity : 400 beds.

The Afghan Children's House is equipped with:
- 10 rooms
- 1 play room
- 1 living-room
- 1 dining-room
- The comfort: kitchen,bathrooms, toilets, laundry room adapted for disabled people
- 1 play room

- Obstetrics : 2 delivery rooms, 1 operating theatre, 1 neonatal department with a capacity of 10 incubators
- Internal Training site
- Expansion of the auxiliary and assistance departments: kitchen, laundry room, mortuary
- Expansion of the department of imaging and radiology
- Expansion of outpatient’s department
