The hospital of Kabul
Built by "La Chaîne de l'Espoir" with the assistance of large donors,
the hospital is currently managed today by the
Aga Khan Network of Development.
"La Chaîne de l'Espoir" provides its medical expertise and oversees the medical coordination.
The hospital includes 100 beds,
1 operating suite with 4 operating rooms, 1 radiology service, 1 analysis laboratory and 1 pharmacy.
About 320 afghans work in the hospital along with french specialists who are there not only to care for the children but also to transfer their knolwedge to local medical teams.
April 3rd, 2006 : the first open heart surgery in history of Afghanistan was performed there by Pr Alain Deloche and Dr. Daniel Roux with his team from the Teaching Hospital of Toulouse.
