Since the 1900s, "La Chaîne de l'Espoir" was involved in taking care of pediatric cardiac patients. A cardiovascular Center was built in Phnom Penh and medical teams were trained.

Inaugurated in 2001, the center offers a yearly capacity of 1 000 operations and 20.000 consultations.

In January 2003, "La Chaîne de l'Espoir" inaugurated the Children's House, which is a medicalised building aimed to accommodate poor children scheduled for surgery as well as their families.

The House has a capacity of twenty beds, a cardiovascular diagnostic (wich can perfom up to 4000 consultations per year) and an intensive care unit.
