Our vision and values



Born poor in disadvantaged countries, thousands of gravely ill or injured children are condemned to die or remain crippled when a simple surgical operation can definitively offer them a normal life.


Our commitment

- To care for as many sick children as possible
- To enable poor children to go to school
- To impart technical knoweldge and theoretical skills to local medical teams

Medical specialities

The pathologies these children suffer from mainly involve cardiac, visceral, orthopeadic, ophthalmologic, and plastic surgery.



Dates of creation

- 1988: Creation of the program "La Chaine de l'Espoir” within the association "Médecins du Monde", managed at that time by Pr Alain Deloche.
- 1995: Creation of the association "La Chaine de l'Espoir" involving surgical care and sponsorship activities in Thailand by "Médecins du Monde". Other affiliated “Chaine de l'Espoir" were created the following years in Belgium, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Israel and Lebanon…
