International Nurses Day 2025
Every year, International Nurses’ Day is celebrated on May 12, in tribute to Florence Nightingale, the British pioneer of modern nursing, who was born on June 12, 1820. At La Chaîne de l’Espoir, this day has a special significance because nurses, whether volunteers or professionals trained by us, play an essential role in children’s access to healthcare.
French Ambassador, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, and AFD regional director attend congenital hip anomalies screening campaign and specialized training at Abu Nseir health center
Amman— On May 11th, Abu Nseir Health Center welcomed the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, the French Ambassador to Jordan, and the Regional Director of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), who attended a national screening campaign for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and observed part of a specialized training on the Graf diagnosis methodology, as part of a three-year project implemented by NGO La Chaîne de l’Espoir for a total amount of 1.8 million euros, with support from AFD in the shape of a 880 000 euro contribution.
A pediatric surgery mission in Thakhek
In November 2024, La Chaîne de l’Espoir led a pediatric surgery mission in Thakhek, Laos, operating on 20 children and training local surgeons.
Ivory Coast: treating the after-effects of caustic soda ingestion
In October 2024, La Chaîne de l’Espoir led a mission to l’Hôpital Mère-Enfant de Bingerville to operate on children suffering from caustic stenosis, in conjunction with local teams and with the aim of transferring skills.
