The medical community of Kabul was invited to the French Medical Institute for Mothers & Children (FMIC) on May 22nd for a Gynaecology/Obstetrics conference led by two speakers from the International Federation of Gynaecology-Obstetrics (FIGO).

Prof. Gerard VISSER, President of the FIGO Maternal and Neonatal Health Committee, spoke about the prevention and treatment of premature delivery.

Prof. Giancarlo DI RENZO, President of the FIGO Committee on Good Clinical Practice in Maternal-Foetal Medicine, presented the issue of recurrent abortion.

A successful conference : reached more than 100 participants

Despite a tense security situation in the city, 109 members of the Kabul medical community specialized in Gynaecology/Obstetrics came to listen to these international experts and to benefit from their knowledge.

Thanks to the videoconference transmission, 17 professionals from the hospital in Bamiyan province were also able to follow the presentations.

As an actor committed to capacity building, the FMIC organizes conferences throughout the year with the participation of international doctors in different disciplines - in person or by videoconference - in order to contribute to the training of the Afghan medical profession.
