A medical chain for refugees

To respond to the migrant's tragedy in Europe, La Chaîne de l’Espoir and Waha International combine their forces to provide medical support to thousands of refugees fleeing their country.

A medical chain has been created to follow the steps of this migration and offer healthcare to the wounded. La Chaîne de l’Espoir and Waha International will be active all along this migratory journey, establishing medical relay points in several countries such as Greece, Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia.

The global strategy of this medical chain is based on the establishment of a healthcare network involving the structures and the health players of these different countries.

The most vulnerable populations such as children, pregnant women and elderly will be the main beneficiaries of this initiative, without forgetting patients with on-going long-term treatments.

In France and overseas, WAHA and La Chaîne de l’Espoir have mobilized medical experts. In the meantime, both NGOs have started procedures to obtain governmental and sanitary authorisations to act with local organisations in Turkey, main starting point of the migrants’ journey.
