AB CFAO: 25 years of commitment to health and education
A commitment to pediatric surgery and training in Africa
As Marketing and Communications Director for CFAO Consumer, Christine Calvez knows the African continent inside out. She has also been General Secretary of AB CFAO for the past twenty-five years.
“ It is an association under the law of 1901, totally independent of the eponymous group and run exclusively by volunteers. The Association de Bienfaisance provides financial support for educational and health initiatives, she explains. In fact, it was a natural decision for us to partner with La Chaîne de l’Espoir. Our Board of Directors is always very sensitive to the fate of these children who are taken into care in France for surgery, welcomed by families who give of their time and affection to support them in their recovery. But we are also keen to encourage training initiatives for healthcare professionals on the continent. “
AB CFAO supports La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées en chirurgie pédiatrique (DES-CP). (read the special report on p. 16-19). “We are delighted to make funds available that enable the transmission of knowledge.“
After twenty-five years, Christine Calvez never tires of this commitment!
