Nawal fled the war, but her disability is still with her.
Nawal grew up in a loving family who fled the war in Syria to Jordan. Unfortunately, during her pregnancy, her mother received no medical care and suffered from malnutrition. At birth, the baby weighed just 1.2 kg. Worse still, he suffered from a serious malformation: both his hands were completely atrophied.
This disease, which affects her joints and fingers, leads to stiffness and loss of flexion, creating major motor difficulties in everyday life: dressing, eating, writing, drawing… Nawal grows up withdrawn, mocked by her peers. She tries to hide her disability and suffers in silence, under the powerless gaze of her parents.
Nawal’s father confided in us all his distress: ” All the doors were closed in front of me. I went days without sleeping or eating, feeling trapped and guilty because there was nothing we could do for our daughter. Covering the high medical costs was out of our reach. “
But there is renewed hope for this little girl and her family, who can perhaps see the end of their child’s ordeal. A series of operations would enable her to regain optimal use of her limbs and regain her self-confidence. But Nawal’s family cannot afford the cost of these much-needed operations. La Chaîne de l’Espoir could pay for them, provided they can find the funds to pay for her.
With your help, Nawal could be enrolled in our next surgery program to benefit from the various operations she needs to no longer suffer from her disability.
3,000 is the cost of the operations and post-operative care needed to give her back the use of her hands.
Every day, little Nawal waits for the operations that will enable her to go to school, make friends and look forward to a brighter future.
We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.
The more you give, the less Nawal waits.
