Successful double operation for Eya

Thanks to your generosity, Eya, a little girl from Benin suffering from a heart defect and a hernia, was successfully operated on in Toulouse. Today, she is cured, has been reunited with her family and leads a serene life.

When Eya arrived in Toulouse for treatment, her state of health was very worrying.

Suffering from a heart condition from birth – an intraventricular septal defect – she was constantly exhausted, and her stunted growth became increasingly severe.

“When we took her in, we realized that Eya also had a malformation in her belly. So she underwent two operations at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse (CHU): for her heart and for this umbilical hernia. She was a very brave girl,” recalls her foster family, Colette Beaucarne.

After a few weeks’ convalescence, Eya was able to return to her home in Porto Novo, Benin.

Thank you so much for your generosity in making it possible for Eya to have the operation that changed her life. Today, Eya looks to the future with hope and can finally get on with her life.

Thanks to a double operation, Eya is cured.

She was reunited with her parents and three older brothers. “We hear from her regularly. She still has to undergo check-ups, but she’s been able to return to life with peace of mind. Her health worries are behind her!”

Thank you for responding to our call for support for Eya!
