La Chaîne de l’Espoir expands its network in the United States with the creation of the United Surgeons for Children association, based in Washington D.C. and chaired by Lee Hilling, director of the French Medical Institute for Children (IMFE) in Kabul.

Its mission is to build a U.S. network of individual donors, foundations and corporations committed to creating a world where all children have access to healthcare, regardless of their place of birth or social background.

The United States has always been a leader in the field of global health, both for its medical expertise and its interest in philanthropy, with the aim of creating as just a world as possible,” says Lee Hilling, Chairman of United Surgeons for Children.

The missions of United Surgeons for Children

United Surgeons for Children wishes to act through its four pillars of action:

  • Surgical missions
  • Medical staff training
  • Building hospital infrastructures
  • Health at school to improve the quality of medical care for vulnerable children in the world’s poorest regions.

“We’re very excited to be supporting this new chapter in La Chaîne de l’Espoir’s international ambition and the potential it represents for so many children around the world,” adds Lee Hilling, Chairman of United Surgeons for Children.
