However, they are connected by the liver. This is the very first time that conjoined twins have ever survived in this poverty-stricken country.

The technical conditions on-site make it impossible to carry out the surgery that would separate them.

Their only hope is to undergo surgery abroad, this is where we come in!

Thank you for your support. Children should never be victims of their birthplace, condemned to suffer from  their lack of access to healthcare.

UPDATE

Thanks to an outstanding surge of solidarity, La Chaîne de l’Espoir and the APHP-Paris managed to finance the Boubacar and Hassane’s transfer to the Necker Children’s Hospital (Paris, France) to undergo the delicate surgery that would separate them.

The team of Professor Yves Aigrain began a real surgical marathon that lasted 11 hours. And it is Dr Agbo Panzo, Chief of the digestive surgery unit of the Donka Hospital in Guinea, who in a final symbolic gesture separated the twins.

This wonderful achievement was a medical and surgical challenge, but also a human and financial one and it would not have been made possible without such an outpouring of support and generosity.
