Bruno Foucher visitsChtoura hospital
On Saturday, March 9, 2019, Mr. Bruno Foucher, Ambassador of France to Lebanon, visited the Chtoura hospital in the Beqaa Valley, where refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children are treated for orthopedic birth defects. This project is funded by the Centre De Crise et de Soutien (French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs) and implemented by La Chaîne de L’Espoir and its partner URDA.
Over 900 children examined and 400 orthopaedic surgeries performed
Since the project was launched in December 2016, and thanks to the French government’s ongoing support,
954 children have been examined and 402 orthopedic surgeries have been performed at Sacré-Cœur hospital in Beirut and Chtoura hospital in the Beqaa Valley.
Mr. Foucher was attentive to the problems and dreams of the children and their brothers and sisters, who thanked France. He hopes the project will continue, as these children need ongoing follow-up and further operations. Nearly 800 children living with orthopedic congenital malformations have been identified under the project and need surgery right now.
