Treatment of children in France

In 2019, La Chaîne de l’Espoir pursues its original activity: bring to France children with congenital and rheumatic heart diseases for surgery in the largest French Teaching Hospitals.

Regional transfers in West Africa

La Chaîne de l’Espoir will transfer sick children in the reference hospitals in West Africa, such as the Cuomo Centre for Paediatric Cardiology in Dakar, Senegal, the André Festoc Centre in Bamako, Mali, and the Salam Center of Khartoum in Sudan - for Chadian children - with the support of Emergency, our Italian partner.

New regional branch

With the opening of a branch in La Réunion, La Chaîne de l’Espoir will include 21 regional branches. That branch will receive Malagasy children for closed-heart surgeries first and then open-heart surgeries at the Félix Guyon of St-Denis.

New programme to support children hospitalised in France

La Chaîne de l'Espoir will accompany hospitalised children who are isolated. Some hundred volunteers take turns at the bedside of about one hundred children suffering from various pathologies and requiring a long hospital stay. To know more about the new programme to support hospitalised children.
