Le fil de l’Espoir #16: “Biomedical team: an essential link in quality care”.
Weaving together the thread of hope
At birth, Safa suffered from pathologies affecting her heart, kidneys, spine, respiratory and digestive systems. Shortly after her birth, the Syrian girl’s parents were told by doctors that their daughter’s condition required surgery within 24 hours or she would die. Today, Safa celebrates her fifth birthday.
We have redesigned our magazine to enable you to experience even more closely, alongside us, all the miracles of life and the beautiful stories made possible by La Chaîne de l’Espoir. La Chaîne & Vous becomes Le Fil de l’Espoir. This thread of hope is the one we weave together, wholeheartedly and tirelessly, to save the lives of children around the world.
Embark with our volunteer doctors… In Togo, to plunge into the heart of a surgical mission. In Ukraine, where our teams are mobilizing to train and supply war doctors. In Afghanistan, where we have just opened a nutrition unit to save the lives of malnourished children. In Mauritania, where we have organized the first open-heart paediatric operations.
Today more than ever, children need us. Wherever we operate, our commitment has remained unchanged for nearly thirty years: to act, every day, to redress the injustice of place of birth and give every child access to quality care. In our special report, you’ll find out how we train biomedical teams in our healthcare facilities, so that we can continue our work in the field over the long term.
Thank you all for taking part in weaving this thread of hope with us, and happy reading!
