Le fil de l’Espoir #17: “Hospitalised children in France: a whole chain of solidarity”.
Saving lives, whatever the cost
It is in the midst of the most difficult times that, together, our fight for life becomes even more meaningful. AsAfghanistan plunges into an appalling crisis since the return of the Taliban, what can we do? As long as the situation allows, we’ll do our utmost to maintain the activity of our hospital in Kabul and the Children’s Pavilion. The survival of these children depends on it, since our hospital takes in the most malnourished Afghan children and is the only one with a neonatal resuscitation unit.
It is with the same determination that, thanks to your invaluable support, we are stepping up our shipments of emergency kits and medical equipment to Ukraine, where bombardments have been tragically punctuating the daily lives of the population for over a year. In our report from Lebanon, we share with you the poignant testimonies of families who benefit from our care program for children born with malformations. We also take you to Burkina Faso, where local medical teams have performed the first autonomous open-heart surgery.
Closer to home, in hospitals all over France, foster families and “sun godfathers and godmothers” bring smiles back to the faces of sick children and offer them essential comfort. Find out more in our special report. These smiles, which give us the will to act for the most disadvantaged, are also those of Samay, Asma, Bintou, Djibril, Asseta, Hamidou and Inaya: thanks to your tremendous outpouring of generosity, they have been able to benefit from an operation that has changed the course of their lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your loyal support. Thanks to your mobilization, our chain of solidarity has the power to save even more children.
