Social impact assessment of La Chaîne de l’Espoir’ssupport programfor isolated hospitalized children

Launched in 1988 at the Necker-Enfants malades hospital in Paris on the initiative of Médecins du Monde, the program tosupport hospitalized children was taken over in 2019 by La Chaîne de l’Espoir. In 2021, the program is being implemented in 13 partner healthcare establishments in mainland France and on Reunion Island, including hospital structures and follow-up care facilities. A total of 2,800 children have benefited from the scheme since its inception.

A social impact assessment, carried out by Agence Phare and supported by the MNH Foundation (formerly the nehs Foundation), identified three benefits of this program, which supports an average of 120 children each year
