Supporting the integration of health and well-being into the school environment through a responsible and participative approach

Because health and education are interdependent, the Education Sector Plan (ESP) 2020-2030 has set the goal of enabling all primary and secondary school pupils to develop in a healthy and protective environment by 2030. To this end, an action framework for the development of Health and Wellbeing is currently being drawn up.

To pave the way and initiate the introduction of a comprehensive approach to Health and Wellbeing, the Ministry of Primary, Secondary, Technical and Craft Education (MEPSTA) and the Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Access to Healthcare (MSHPAUS) have been associated since 2019 with the initiative “Ma Santé, Mon École: un Enjeu Collectif” (MSME) supported by La Chaîne de l’Espoir, Wash Volunteers (WV), Jeunesse et Avenir Togo (JAT) and Nyagbé.

This document reflects the thinking of our partners during the course of the project, the approach adopted by professionals from different backgrounds, and the demands placed on all those involved in the system to integrate Health and Wellness for our students and our country.
