A commitment to help girls

Education for girls is a major issue

In developing countries, girls must overcome far more obstacles than boys in order to access education. Bringing about an end to this situation is as much about equality as it is about development.

This is why we have launched two programmes aimed specifically at girls and young women, in India and Afghanistan.

Our project in India

We have opened a preschool and primary school in a poor district on the outskirts of Jaipur. They accommodate 135 young girls, who are particularly vulnerable because they come from lower castes.
Free, quality education is provided by the half-day. The girls also benefit from ongoing support to help with homework and monitor their progress.

Material support and access to healthcare is also available, as is a school meal.
